RYA Level 2 Basic Skills Margate Yacht Club
Take the next step in your sailing journey with the RYA Level 2 Basic Skills course at Margate Yacht Club. This two-day course is designed for those who have completed Level 1 (or have some basic experience) and want to improve their confidence and ability sailing independently.
With guidance from qualified RYA instructors, you'll develop stronger boat-handling skills and learn how to sail more effectively in a range of conditions.
Course Overview:
- Improving sailing technique and boat control
- Sailing efficiently upwind and downwind
- Tacking and gybing with confidence
- Better balance and sail trim
- Man overboard recovery exercise
- Sailing a triangular course
- Introduction to racing skills and rules awareness
- Understanding weather, wind shifts, and decision-making on the water
What's Included:
- Two full days of practical training
- Use of club boats and safety equipment
- RYA Level 2 certificate on successful completion
Who It's For:
- Sailors who have completed RYA Level 1
- Those with some experience looking to build independence
- Anyone aiming to sail without an instructor onboard
